Presidential Pick for 2008

Though he hasn't declared yet I'm going with Wesley Clark.

Outstanding Military record. This impressed me because the next President will inherit 2 wars with 2 confrontations in sight.

Clark is a graduate of West Point, and was awarded a Rhodes scholarship to Oxford University where he earned a Masters Degree in Economics. He holds several honorary Knighthoods, the USA's highest civilian level award of the Presidential Medal of Freedom and a National Audubon Society award for saving an endangered species of desert turtle. He is fluent in four languages: English, Spanish, German, and Russian.

Wesley Clark on the issues:

Wesley Clark on the Issues
The info is from the 2004 campaign but it is a general outline.

He is an ex Republican which to me means he can see issues from both sides.

He isn't a career politician.

Name recognition might be a problem.

I could live with Wesley Clark as a President

I prefer to wait until all the hats are in the ring , and see what the candidates shape up as . That is a year and a half away .

That just might pose a problem with Article II, Section 1 of the U.S. Constitution which states you have to be 35 years old. Of course, you could always buy him some false I.D.

Well, according to you guys, the repugs have pretty much disregarded the constitution, so why would that stop us?

From past experience (04 election run) Wesley Clark is alright imo. Not my favorite pick for a President but someone who certainly has a better background for the job than many politicians.

Looks like Wesley is getting closer to running.

Clark wants to avoid late campaign start - Yahoo! News

"It's not a matter of fiddling with troop levels," Clark said. "It's a matter of politics inside Iraq and diplomacy in the region. ... You can lose what's going on militarily inside Iraq, but you can't win it militarily, either by putting more forces in or by pulling them out."
