Russia, Putin

Putin is probably the guy which Russia needed for the economy and slowly Russia is again becoming the world superpower. How will this reflect to the world politics we are yet to see but what concerns me is that Russia is becoming again the biggest arms exporter in the world. Not to say they are building up their army. Sure we will soon hear what they have to say when some global political problem will rise where Russia will have interest to interviene.

So is strong Russia good for the World ?

If God wants to protect us, then He will. If Russia is to overrun us, then it will be our time to go as a country.

I don't see Russia as being a threat anytime soon or in the near future though, tolio.

Re: Russia, Putin

I think the Russia of today is radically different from the old one . They need to be strong in the same way we need to be strong , they face some of the same challenges we have in the past . I think they will be our friends for a long time despite some cultural differences which are rapidly disappearing .
We need them to be a power in their part of the world , and we need them on our side .

Re: Russia, Putin

I don't think "scared" is the correct word , perhaps wary and cautiously pessimistic would be better terms to use .

If the U.S. was scared of Russia, it would faint just looking at China.
